Black Orchid Designs

So i woke up feeling inspired to do stuff this morning but un motivated! Can that be possible? I've been only trying to drink coffe when i'm really tired or exhuasted. but i crave it! its like a drug! The only problem i have with coffe is that it makes me grind my jaw something horrible. So when i do have the need for it, which seems to be alot lately, i've been drinking alot of water after to flush my system. I need to work on this motivation thing. I have lots to get done today. Yesterday was very productive and finished 3 monster hats, one monster clutch and two moster cuffs! these are all going to rarefunk friday because Tamara has been selling them and is going to be at a craft show saturday. Saturday i am go to Stratford to the rabbit hole to advertise and drop some product off. They want monster stuff too and some winter warm stuff. i might go tonight and get some fleece at fabricland to make some hoodies or see if I can frankenstitch some together for something unusual.

Oh and i'm excited i finally got some bins to organize my scrap fabrics! The floor of my studio looks much better! and i know where things are! As well now i have to go through the leather and decide what i don't want out of that and think of some way to organize it, the pvc pile seems to be in the same boat! I also went through my mound of thrift store finds and fur the other day although i swallowed more fur then i did get ride of. I gave robyn some black fur scraps. a whole bag! I hope to get the xmas stuff out tonight, i've wanted too since the weekend but kevin has been tired and a little under the weather this week, more i think to the lack of sleep he had the previous week. The both of us have been waking up at night lately, not to mention i have been dreaming like crazy! I think its the changing weather and such. My back has been stiff but better though.

some stuff i've already done this morning but i so haven't followed my list exactly!

So this morning has been pretty productive! I've already got stuff for sale done and stuff for Rare Funk down town. This after noon i'll be working a bit on the huge tribal dance order I have and more new things to list. Also got more xmas gifts done and working on more today.

I am so bad sometimes, I just bought a cat skull from etsy. The cat skull is old, this seller finds alread dead animals and uses there remains for art. I think its a unique way of honoring the animals spirit. Nothing goes to waste and he did not die in vain, just to be come my unique hat band!
I love animals and i'm fascinated by every part of them. I haven't told kevin yet. I got it to put on the leather top hat he's going to get me for xmas.
why must I be so drawn to strange things!
Maybe its the part of me thats a bit indian, aparently my mom said one of her grandmothers were part native. Intresting, i guess thats why i like leather and hides too.

A million things are on my mind. It started the other night when my neck and back were acting up. I was thinking of stuff I could make, stuff I could change in the house and get rid of, stuff that makes my life worth it, Stuff that I keep private only to myself.

so much its been hard to think straight. When I got up this morning I though maybe it was out of my system but no. I'm having a hard time getting going this morning. I want to list a whole bunch of stuff today but its way be too cloudy. I also want it to snow so I can feel like xmas. I used to get so excited about it when I was a child, I want that feeling back. decorating made me feel part of it at home. kevin and I have tried that here but it seems we do it half assed and last minute. So I'm going to try and get it all organized in the next few weeks. I want to hang my black coffins and candy canes on the tree, put up my stripey bows and black glitter. Decorate the gas masks and tomb stones and put up red and green spider webs. Even though this doesn't sound like xmas it is to me. Even though my family had traditional xmas stuff I always made it darker when I was a child. When Nightmare before christmas came out I was so in love with it that I play it while I decorate the house and sing along. I still play the soundtrack when I Make xmas Gifts.


Tonight Miss E is coming to sew with me. Kevin has been working late so it will be nice to have some company. I'll work on some stuff.

What I want to try and get done today is

1. List
2. finish pre-made dreads
3. work on new stuff
4 make dinner
5. hang up laundry

So stuff has been picking up not to mention what I need to get done for xmas. I've gotten quite a few gifts so far but still a list to complete. Last week i goofed off a bit and took a few days off, but it actually did me good! I was more productive and got so much more done!
As well my energy was pretty stable and i did not have to feed too many times to keep it up, not to mention there wasn't any energy i wanted to feed off of around me.

Kevin and I actually went to the mall, not to xmas shop but to check out the new renos. It was a terrible idea due to there was hords of people there, i guess they were xmas shopping but it didn't seem like people were buying much. kevin and I also went to some craft shows at little churches and got more there for stocking stuffers and presents then we ever find at a mall. I buy less and less at the mall so i don't look like everyone else!

Oh and well thats another thing I was dressed in my bright blue curly wig,little black top hat and trip trench and a tattered skirt when I went out. People kept asking me if I was a twighlight fan, it really made me angry! Just because i'm goth and love vampires doesn't mean i'm a twighligh junky, I don't even like twighlight.

other than that I never even got a dirty look most people loved what I was wearing. Where are the days when people used to think it wasn't cool? I guess maybe the population is becoming more open?

Been working hard to try and get alot of pre-made items done before the xmas rush!
Woke up this morning with a really stiff neck so i hope i can get some things done today!! I took advil and going to take a shower and see if that helps.

Its so dull and rainy today i hope i can take some pics and list a few new items!

so i have been so busy last few months i haven't had time to breath! I have so much to update but i'm waiting on some pics!

I have alot of stuff to do still but its a managable pace now. Then ofcourse i get the swine flu! (well what we probably think is) along side my husband for more than a week! I have to say though it wasn't too bad and i got so much needed sleep and rest it was wonderful. My husband got it a little worse and still feels crappy. he couldn't rest as much as I do to his job, where i work at home and can take a nap or break when needed.

All around though things are going good and I hope to keep everything flowing good, i'veeven got alot of xmas presents done!

Today suposed to be a day off but we decided to reno the hallway finally and this is what i need to get done today.

1. finish flooring in hallway
2. clean house
3. get groceries
4. make dips
5. clean studio
6. take out garbage
7 kwteam meet and greet

Its more than busy and I am working at Miss E's costume shop for most of the month. I basically only have 6 days to get tons of work done!

But! Its all worth it in the end! I may be tired but i'll be very happy and productive. I'm already getting lots of stuff crossed off the list for the month!

So i've been working my ass off including this long weekend!

I've been getting alot done but i am still behind just a bit! I hope to pull up a bit today as long as i can stay positive and such. I'm about half way done the queen of hearts costume which makes me happy!

My mom came and spent two days on the weekend making masks which also makes me happy! she go 6 done and 4 are totally completed!

I hope to post some pics before i go sell everything! I should really document my stuff better.

Ok so its hell time and i have put on the tanker helmet and have kept a solid state of mind to keep me going till the end of October!

Lots of things coming up and i'm working my ass off to keep things going. In All not too many bad things just more things that make u think "oh thats a pain in the ass". As well as  my busy week scheduals I'm trying to keep up with orders and am doing fairly well!

So whats up for me over the next while!

Theses are the reasons i may not be talking to alot of people or having any time to just hang out.

3. Actually going away september 20th-26th (might actually be more stressed while away)
4. Mask making at rarefunk studio october 3-4th Learn how to make a leather mask in formed leather for $60.00 includes material sign up now 10 spots!
5. Halloween hell and working at miss E's costume shop
6. October 18th vending at the pagan moot for a carnval themed masquerade!
7. Possible vending october 25th

oh my this is going to be intresting!

I've been very busy lately trying to get new pojects done and complete custom orders! I've had a bit of up and downs with depression but i have been able to over it fast. Keeping positive has made me more productive! As well I am getting excited for Halloween even though it will be very busy and I'll be working non stop at the costume shop.

So my life is not the most complicated but sometimes to get through depression or moods i have to just believe! Just believe in things even though others don't think its true. I find if i do this things work out and keep positive. Sometimes just believing is all it takes!

Nothing too eciting going on. My b-day party is saturday and its sea themed so i am going to be a sea monster girl. Currently working on a blue dread wig but i don't think it will be done, but will see. I've got a bunch of things due sunday and monday and hope to get a good chunk of them done today and tomorrow. next week won't be as crazy but i will be focusing on new items for etsy and halloween so that i can get them up now, because the next three months will be uber busy. it seems the summer has flown by, not to mention it hasn't been that warm. I am already getting excited for halloween even though i'll be working at Miss E's store like crazy! It will be good for saving for xmas and paying stuff off.

doesn't seem too bad

so i've got a full plate most of july and working hard to keep things stocked and getting custom orders done! I am going to be away from friday to sunday this weekend for camping. I have mixed feelings about going. Part of me wants to do something else for my b-day weekend and the other part of me wants to relax and see some family. Then the tiny part of me wants to shut the bedroom door and hide all weekend! I've been extra emotional lately often putting on a mask to hide it from friends and family. I am also going over in my head who i can't seem to be around lately even though i want to but they seem to take my well needed energy thats so hard for me to keep and get!

On the lighter side of things i have been busy so my attention has been put to more constructive items. I actually made a dress for myself the other day, although it needs something more on it. I plan to wear it camping :)

I have a huge list of things i'm working on and actually getting done!

so ok i'm fustrated with some people in my life. Some old some new. Maybe i need to make the decision to just let them go. I try so hard to be friendy and keep a friendship going but its hard if it is not coming back. It makes me think they don't even care or they are using me for something.

i'm in such a pissy mood today with just people but on the bright side i'm positive with my business. Can u be positive and negative at the same time???

It feel weird to have both at the same time. Now don't get me wronge i'm not fustrated at all people around me just a few who seem to add a weird energy in my life and i can't help but to care for them. Maybe i just have to stop being so careing with eveyone and only with a select few.

My emotions seem to get crushed and beat when i care too much with too many people.


Possibly i just need to feed on yummy energy

so ok after faery fest was cancelled i had tons of custom stuff to ge done! I finished the octo corset for rebecca, Nacy's longline corset is now done and the 8 pairs of wrap pants i made for a local tribal dance group. They liked the pants so much two of them ordered another pair in diferent fabric plus another one is getting custom dreads by friday and now they want me to come sell at there show on saturday. lol  plus today and tomorrow I will be focusing on new items for etsy, rare funk and the rabit hole. wednesday and thursday working on two other corset orders and custom dread orders. As well listing on the webpage and etsy during all of this.  I hope sunday i can just veg and relax, as well maybe get something done for myself on the following monday since the 16th we go for a small vacation over my b-day weekend to the 19th.

Alot is going on but i'm not stressed i'm actually gaining more confidence in myself! Knowing how i create under presure is most thrilling. I seem to take the energy now and not get stressed but creat these fashion explosions of such artistic value that i am so pleased with myself.


My energy has been good, i haven't had to feed too much, which is good and means i'm not loosing it. I think a certin person i was hanging around was taking it/or i was gving it to them hopping it would help. but i realize now they just don't want to open there mind to anything. for some reason they have a unconcious block. I don't know why i care so much, maybe that why i was loosing so much energy.

oh well off to work now!

So i've just been trying to get stuff done.
I completed rebecca's octopus corset and because of her massive boobage she was not comfotable with the over bust so we decided to do a demibust which looked way better on her! Now today i plan to get done a bunch of stuff to list as well as work on custom orders. Kevin's b-day is tomorrow. He has tomorrow and friday off which will be very nice! on saturday we plan to do a picnic. If the weather is good! Its been quite rainy this week but at least it's been cool! I do like cooler summers.

I've been working on alot of neat things lately slowly getting them done for sale. The rabbit hole in stratford continues to sell alot of my items so that is awesome and i keep making them a bunch of stuff.

So by the end of the week i plan to get done the following (keeping fingers crossed)

i've got three days............can i do it!

so another hell week has started. at least it is suposed to rain most of the week. I'd really like to take a break this weekend and hang out with kevin. This weekend was fun but too busy! It starded with great garage sale finds and a good friends b-day party then ended with seeing my sick parents and a wedding.

So i am catching up on orders and getting lots of new ones all at the same time. At least i'm not slow :)
Kevin and i also plan to look into running the neo-victorian market this november with fashion show and party at night!

Over the last few weeks i have been selling well at rare funk and the rabbit hole. That means money at the end of the month :)

so all the time and effort i put in the fashion show was not a waste! even though we did not do the faery fest fashion show (due to rain, even though it cleared up) I ended up being able to sell most of the items i made for it. The burlesque outfit i made for Demonica de Morte will be featured in a show of hers on the 24th . She is a very talented burlesque dancer and its awesome she will be wearing this. The fun fur bondage pants go to brodie Miss E's boy cause he has a strang addiction to furry clothing items, and i am left with one brown steampunk skirt for sale and a white ripped and stitched distressed shirt thing. My marie antoinette and rebeccas dread wig were already done and now being kept.

the Mermaid outfit went to the rabbit hole in stratford for consignment. When i was there ton saturday hey sold 3 items of mine and they said they usually sell one a day. So they keep wanting more items! Rarefunk downtown kitchener was a bit slow for selling my items but there store is about half the size of the rabbit holes and very full so i hadn't dropped alot off there. Last week i took 3 re-worked band shirts to her. On saturday evening i dropped off to see her vend at the multi cultural festival where she said she sold 2 of them that day! So now she wants more too!

Its good things are picking up for both of them since there just like me " a loan ranger of fashion and business" I really need to clone myself!
Now I need to focus my time on custom orders, new items for my etsy stores and keeping the house clean.
I keep feeling like i need to rearange the studio too, Its so crowded and needs a face lift, but do I really have time!
Although if i take the time to clean it i will be more productive!

Anyways i probably should get to work since tuesday  I am working at Miss E's Costume shop. Oh i forgot the most exciting part of my weekend! I got an old dirty victorian couch! for $5.00!!! its in poor shape but will make for a great photo shoot! then kevin id going to fix it for our gothy house!
